On Tips: My Rationale Explained

Find out Four Factors that Hinder Habit Change

Visiting this site means that you have the desire to change some habits and this may mark the beginning of habit change. The truth is that habit change may seem like a piece of cake for many people, but it can be challenging at times. You are likely to hear some people say that no matter how much they try, they can never lose weight since they are naturally fat. You may be shocked to learn that some people believe that cancer is hereditary in their family and thus they can do nothing to prevent it. You have also probably heard some people argue that they do not think that can avoid diabetes because their loved ones have it. I know this may sound absurd, but the truth is that these are the things that are in many people’s mind. Actually, these are only some of the things that people believe since the list is endless.

Numerous factors hinder people from changing habits and habit formation. Here, we will look at only four of the main behavior change hindrances. The first hindrance is the belief system on the formation of habit. It is sad that so many people allow illusions like the one mentioned earlier rule their lives. For example, some have believed that they can do nothing about cancer since it is hereditary in their families. When people fill their minds with such believes, they lose the enthusiasm to change their behaviors.

The second thing that affects the ability of people to change is the system of education on changing habit. Many medical graduates are taught how to conduct surgery on a person or give the modern medication or treatment to patients. The surgeons are never taught how to help patients change habits and live healthy lives. Many graduates lack training in important areas such as wellness, health, and nutrition.

Another factor that hinders behavior change is modern technology. Technology has been beneficial to human beings in so many ways. However, the problem is that the advancement in technology brings out a technique of solving the problem without getting to the root. For example, in case of weight loss, it would be better to know the root of the excessive weight gain and how one can change behaviors rather than going for surgery.

Another hindrance to habit change is the Media. Media can either contribute to bad habits or to change of habit. The two sense organs the Media focuses on are the ears and the eyes that are very significant. The good thing is that it is never too late to change things.
